Hi all,

I am announcing a new interesting accessory for all AVR programmers. It's upgraded AVR fuse programmer that's being described in the book on the page 147 (click the link).

We have upgraded fuse programmer so that now it's a stand alone programmer.

What's even more interresting that it's firmware can be easily upgraded via USB. We will give the *.bas file available to community so that every one can download and upgrade the file to any AVR that can be programmed with the fuse programmer.

See first photos of working prototype on my desk. Fuse programmer is powered via USB. The fuse programmer is designed for two versions. One version is minimal, with only one button and no USB chip for firmware upgrading. With this version one can read an AVR and set fuses to factory value which effectively saves bricked AVR.

Another version has 4 buttons. With this version user can read unknown AVR and through buttons set correct fuses for that AVR.

Firmware can be upgraded via USB. That is handy when rescuing an AVR that is not listed within firmware. Firmware will be open to community (it's a Bascom-AVR file) so anyone can upgrade firmware for it's AVR and upgrade firmware through USB.

Stay tuned, we will shortly publish this interesting tool that saved many bricked AVRs on my desk.
