Interfacing Kenwood radio TS 140S / TS 680S with optional IF10C module
by Davor Kordic, 9A4KJ
Short explanation:
The IF10C interface connects Personal computers (PC-s) and old Kenwood radios via standard RS232 serial bus. That is possible because the Z80 microcontroller with all periphery is built in Radios Control unit. Specific commands inside Control unit and advanced PC programs (N1MM, DXLog, CT etc.) make this old radios almost competitive until now for HAM Contest requirements.
There is only three chips and several passive electronic elements to solder on PCB created in advance TARGET3001 software environment.
This model needs additional USB - DB9 adapter cable. I didn't made it because wanted to get vintage model for my old TS-140S radio.
This module is designed according to Kenwood documentation and will work with RS232 cable connected to your PC!
