Compared to liquid-crystal alpha-numeric displays, 7-segment LED displays are less versatile: their character set is limited to numbers plus several more or less readable letters, they display fewer digits and they consume much more power. However, their digits are much bigger, and they shine brightly in several distinctive colours, making them a perfect choice for some
projects. That’s why we have developed a 4-character 7-segment display as an add-on module for our MegaPin and MiniPin II development systems.
